Halloween Treats!


BOO!


Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I love the decorations and all the fun things to do with food.  Here are a couple of quick, easy and cute Halloween treats.  These treats are so quick because we are dipping Oreos & Milanos.  The Oreos can be dipped in your favorite chocolate. You can pizazz them up with sprinkles and Halloween decorations.  The Milanos take a half dip in some white chocolate and end up looking like delicious little ghosts.  These cookies are fun little treats that will be enjoyed by both adults and children.


Chocolate Dipped Oreos


1 Lb. of your favorite Dipping Chocolate (Melting disks work best!)
2 Packages of Holiday Oreos or Double Stuffed Oreos**
6 in. lollipop sticks
Halloween sugar decorations & sprinkles


**Use the holiday Oreos for this treat.  They are double stuffed which is perfect for sliding the sticks into the Oreos and it's extra fun to see the colored frosting. These oreos are great at any holiday! Red filling at Christmas, Yellow at Easter etc.


You won't be dipping the 2 full packages of Oreos (unless you want to!) but you want to allow for breakage. 


Start by sticking on lollipop stick directly through the center of the oreo, stopping before the stick comes out the other end.  Continue using the sticks until you have the desired amount of Oreos you want to dip.  Stick the Oreos in the freezer on a cookie sheet for about 20 min.  This will help when dipping!  If the filling is too soft the stick could fall out while dipping.


Right before you are ready to remove the Oreos from the freezer, melt your chocolate.  I like to melt my chocolate a microwave safe 2 C. measuring cup. You don't have to bother with a double boiler and the cup is deep enough to do the dipping.


Spread out some waxed paper and get your decorations ready.


Remove the Oreos from the freezer and start dipping. Dip the Oreo in the chocolate and twist/tap/shake the excess off of the Oreo.  Place on the wax paper and sprinkle on decorations. Continue with the remaining Oreos, melting more chocolate if necessary.  Let the chocolate set until ready to serve.

Milk Chocolate Melting Disks (You will only need a couple. Use when adding the eyes)


Melt the while chocolate disks in a 2 C. measuring cup.  I would start would 30 second increments.  While Chocolate can be funny when you melt it. It can get clumpy fast.


Spread your waxed paper and start dipping.  Dip the Milano cookie 1/2 to 3/4 of way into the white chocolate and place on the waxed paper to set. 


Melt a few milk chocolate disks. Using the end of a lollipop stick dip into the chocolate to make the eyes of the ghost.


Let set & enjoy!


Oreos
Oreos, Chocolate & Lollipop sticks.
Sticks are in. Time to pop in the freezer. 
Melt the chocolate and get ready to dip.
Fresh from the freezer ready for some chocolate.
Dip.....
Drip & Shake.
Tap, tap, tap.
Witches, Werewolves & Pumpkins Oh My!
Decorate while the chocolate is still wet. If you wait too long your decorations won't stick.
Drizzle some Oreos with a different colored chocolate. Melt a 2nd color in the microwave and drizzle using a fork.
Ready to serve!
A quick test.  For quality control.....

Milano Ghosts
There are ghosts in this picture. You just can't see them........yet.
Melt your white chocolate.
Dip the Milanos 1/2 to 3/4 of the way in the chocolate.  Let set on the waxed paper.
Melt a few disks of milk chocolate and use the end of a lollipop stick to make two eyes on each ghost.
Yummy.
